MORTUARY
The new Southern General Hospital in Glasgow was completed in late 2011. The mortuary and pathology departments were located in separate buildings to the main hospital and were constructed first.
The facilities are used not only by the hospital, but also by the police and coroner’s departments, and consist of 5 separate rooms with a total of 11 post mortem tables and 11 dissection tables with sinks.
In the general post mortem room there were 6 post mortem tables, however the suite also incorporates a further 4 rooms covering High Risk Primary (1 table) and Secondary (1 table), Paediatric (2 tables) and Homicide (1 table).
Our partners Milby manufactured the body stores, with a capacity of 300 bodies, whilst we manufactured all 300 stainless steel body trays.
